UCAP Capstone Project
RMIT Final Semester

6-Storey Mass Timber Commercial Educational Facility

Designed primarily with REVIT 2023 this design is the culmination of my final semester of my Advanced Diploma of Building Design. All levels of production were part of this program with 4 week blocks making the pre-design, concept, design development and finally design documentation phases.

For the quality of this projects final submission I was able to achieve the award in “Overall Excellence"

Design Capstone Project

Single Storey Public Facility and Commercial Store fronts

As a capstone to our Design Solutions class we were tasked with designing a community oriented redevelopment over a heritage listed sub station that had been turned into a cafe. We were tasked with creating combined facility including a public toilet and change rooms, bike store and service facility and one cafe to replace the one lost in the redevelopment.

Residential Design Capstone
RMIT Second Year

Double Storey Residential House

The capstone for the residential portion of the program, we were tasked with creating a home in the tight spaces of Fitzroy. We were required to follow local and state legislation in designing this building as well as creating a design that took liberally from existing styles surrounding the site.

Fireplace Design Collection

Having come from working around fireplaces for many years and providing assistance with fireplace design and installation, my strongest niche asset as a designer is my understanding and appreciation of fireplace design and incorporation.

This project is an ongoing process where I seek to create a collection of various fireplace designs and incorporating them into spaces where the provide a cornerstone to the themes of the space. Through my experiences I have seen fireplaces been incorporated at many levels of design in a wide variety of existing styles as well as completely fresh designs. This project gives me the space to explore the fantasy fireplace designs that I always hoped to see walk through the door during my time at Jetmaster Heat & Glo.
